The Career, Employment and Transfer Center assists students with career planning, job seeking and transfer advising. Through workshops as well as individual counseling, staff offer assistance in deciding career goals, in planning a job seeking campaign, and learning how to transfer to a senior institution.
In the career center, John Tyler offers resources such as self-assessment tools, research tools, and information and sessions.
Career Services offers students individual counseling, workshops, programs and events to help foster comprehensive, life-long career planning. Career Services, along with internships, international education, student research, and general education programs, provides students with the curricular and co-curricular experiences they need to gain marketable skills that will service them throughout their careers.
The Career Services department is dedicated to assisting the students and graduates of South University with their employment search in their field of study. They offer personal assistance and group workshops in resume writing, interview skills, networking, and job searching tips. They work building relationships with area employers to make South University their first choice in hiring graduates. South University’s Richmond campus offers a variety of Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degree level programs in the areas of Nursing and Health, Business and Information Technology, Legal and Criminal Justice.

Career Services is a vital part of the educational and student developmental process at Virginia State University. They provide career planning and placement assistance to currently enrolled VSU students and alumni.
The center provides career exploration field trips, career development workshops, seminars and graduate school material. Students are provided with a career library, resource center and GRE, GMAT, LSAT, and MCAT practice tests. In addition, students are provided with an up-to-date job listing (part-time, summer, career employment, and internships) and on-campus interviews with fortune 500 companies and opportunities to network with a wide range of recruiters.
